Quick Start Guide

This guide walks you through the fastest path to getting your first document live on your storefront. We'll upload a document, link it to a product, and preview it on your store.

From your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Compass Docs. You'll land on the dashboard which shows your document library and coverage stats.

Click on a product and open its details. You'll see document categories available. Select the category for your document, click Upload, and drag and drop your PDF. Your document appears instantly with a checkmark.

Go to Settings → General Settings. Click "Add blocks to your theme" to open the theme editor. Search for "Product Documents", add the block, and save. Your documents are now visible to customers.

Want customers to search documents across your catalog? Go to Settings → Search Widget. Customize search behavior, display style, and which categories to show. A live preview shows your changes instantly.

Visit your product page on your live store. Scroll to the bottom and you should see the documents section. Click a document to download it.

Upload more documents. Rename categories in Settings to match your business. Enable the search widget for larger catalogs. Use bulk import to upload documents for multiple products at once.
